It was all good until AKA had to duck the flying can that was directed at him at an event in Potchefstroom on Sunday.

The Supamega was visibly not impressed by the gesture from the fans who paid a chunk to see him in the North West.

Things were cordial. The Megacy waited in anticipation the entire evening for their leader, Supamega. As the headliner, AKA was only slated to come on stage in the early hours of Monday morning.

This is when the event is at its peak. Fans are piss drunk and energies reverberate on another scale. This is the perfect set up for AKA, a musician who feeds off this type of energy to deliver his usual electric performances.

The preparation that goes into building a set for a performance is costly and time-consuming. Bhova does the most and the quality of his performances are a testament to that.

It is a shame that the people of Potch could not experience, in full, what they had paid for.

What happened to AKA in Potchefstroom?

It is not exactly clear what fueled the rage from a minority group of the fans but throwing beer cans on stage while an artist is performing is not acceptable.

At the time the video footage was taken, AKA was performing his hit single with Anatii, 10 Fingers. A few minutes into the song, fans started throwing beer cans at the Mega.

He ignored this and carried on for a few more seconds before he cut off the performance. In his defence, he tried to get on stage once more and even had the promoter address the crowd about throwing beer cans.

However, these pleas were ignored as it happened yet again. AKA was forced, at this point, to leave the stage, cutting his performance short.

He addressed the situation on Twitter, stating that he felt unsafe on stage.
