ActionSA is set to announce former DA leader Zwakele Mncwango as its new Provincial Chairperson in KwaZulu-Natal on Monday, 17 October 2022.

The party hasn’t had a chairperson following Dr Makhosi Khoza’s departure earlier this year.

ActionSA President Herman Mashaba is set to unveil the new chairperson in Durban and will be accompanied by the National Chairperson Michael Buemont.

“It is my greatest honour to officially inform South Africans that I will be announcing the ActionSA KZN Provincial Chairperson on Monday 17 October 2022, followed by the Western Cape Chairperson on 24 October. ActionSA will have all 9 Provinces covered by the end of this month,” Mashaba wrote on Twitter.

There are rumours that former DA KZN leader Zwakele Mncwango who recently quit as a Member of the Provincial Legislature where he was the party’s Chief Whip is joining ActionSA. Just days after quitting as MPL Mncwango announced his resignation as a member of the DA.

DA KZN leader Francois Rodgers said they understand that Mncwango will take up the position of ActionSA chairperson in KZN before the end of October, which was his plan since he announced his first resignation earlier in October.

The party leader said they believe that Mncwango has been planning his departure to ActionSA for the last month.

When he tendered his resignation, the former DA KZN leader said there are certain options that he might consider for the future such as whether to remain in politics or further his academic studies or even venture into the corporate world should he decide to do so.
