While our Head of State, Cyril Ramaphosa, flaunts the new dawn for international investors in his overseas travels, he has left the country in the hands of Acting President David Mabuza and his first order of business was officiating a special send-off for Dr Thandi Ndlovu.

What happened to Dr Thandi Ndlovu?

Dr Ndlovu, a well-respected businesswoman and the founder of Motheo Construction tragically lost her life, on Saturday, 24 August, following a head-on car crash in the North West.

Dr Ndlovu went from serving in the ANC’s Umkhonto WeSizwe military wing, responsible for literacy and education as a Commander, to owning a multimillion-rand construction business in two decades.

Rali Mampeule, the CEO of the South African Housing and Infrastructure Fund (SAHIF), described Dr Ndlovu’s untimely passing as a huge loss to the construction industry.

“The construction industry has lost a heroine, a dedicated businesswoman, and a selfless leader. Dr Thandi paved a way for a lot of women in the industry and she was on a mission to unlock more opportunities for others. She was one of the shining stars in the construction industry, thanks to her 20 years experience in the sector,” Mampuele said.
