DECREASE IN NUMBER OF TRAVELLERS CROSSING THE BORDER

According to the report by a SABC the Border Control Manager at the Lebombo border post that connects South Africa and Mozambique, Obed Maditsi, said there had been a decrease in the number of travellers crossing the border between the two countries on New Year’s eve.

He furthermore told the media that his team is ready to welcome travellers back from 1 January, when many people will start returning after the festive season.

TEAM ARE READY TO WELCOME TRAVELLERS BACK ON SATURDAY

“I think we are ready as a team. We are ready because we are also utilising Kilometre 4 and all the systems are ready. We are just waiting for the clients to show up from the second to process them easily.

We managed to intercept 7000 through the borderline. Those travelling people we handed them over to our inspectorate… so that they can process them and deport them immediately,” Maditsi said.
