A car fit for a king? Since the ML is extinct, this is the SUV the EFF is gifting King Dalindyebo

It’s not the Mercedes ML he requested, but the EFF will present King Dalindyebo with a luxury vehicle on Saturday, 13 November.

AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo told his supporters that the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) would gift him a “brand new” Mercedes Benz ML SUV while the party was campaigning in the Eastern Cape ahead of the 2021 Local Government Elections.

It turns out that the German car manufacturer stopped calling its luxury SUV class by that name in 2015. The EFF said it was unaware of this. Nevertheless, the party will present King Dalindyebo with a car on Saturday, 13 November.

EFF TO DELIVER KING DALINDYEBO’S CAR ON SATURDAY

On Thursday, the EFF announced that it would host a welcoming ceremony for King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo on Saturday.

The welcoming ceremony is expected to take place at the Enkululekweni Palace in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, at 10:00. This is where the wheels will be handed over.

According to News24 – who the EFF said they learnt about the ML class’ discontinuation from – the political party will gift the King with a brand new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe SUV, which is reportedly near R2 million.

King Dalindyebo spokesperson Mthunzi Ngonyama described the gift as a restoration of the King’s dignity. Ngonyama quipped that the car was on ‘her’ way and that her royal duties wait.

The car announcement was initially made on the campaign trail. The King encouraged those gathered to vote for the EFF as he intended to do so.
