5 reasons why Julius Malema would make a great president

Good morning Mr President…

5 reasons why Julius Malema wo

When Julius Malema was kicked from the ANC in 2012, very few would have said: “that man is ready to be president of South Africa.” Many still see the EFF commander-in-chief as volatile but politicians have to go through growth, just like any human being.

In 2017 though, the EFF’s numbers are growing rapidly and the party is becoming known as the main alternative for black voters who will no longer vote ANC but also cannot support the DA. (*cough Helen cough*) Now, let’s get to the five reasons why Malema could be a great SA president…

  1. Juju has been in politics since he was 9 years old

Julius has had an interest in working to help his people since he was just a kid. He has previously spoken about how during apartheid times, he used to push the tyres to where barricades were going to be set up. A child playfully pushing a tyre didn’t attract any attention from Police.

  1. He publically admits to his mistakes.

This is something you simply don’t see in Politics, not just in South Africa but all around the world. Politicians spin and spin and spin some more, when they get called out for things they’ve done in the past, most of them won’t admit their failings. Malema has publically acknowledged that he was a diehard Zuma loyalist, he openly admits the error he made in having faith in the president. More recently, the EFF backed Busisiwe Mkhwebane to become the new public protector. Malema admitted in a press conference that was a mistake, calling her “a puppet from the Gupta’s kitchen”. Julius does make mistakes but that kind of public honesty is an exceptionally rare (and impressive) thing in politics.

  1. He built his own political party in rapid time

This is extremely impressive when you look at what has happened to the other political parties that attempted to become the “3rd voice” in SA politics. COPE tried and then collapsed miserably, (the party still whimpers on)  AGANG launched out of nowhere, attempted to merge with the DA, failed and then disappeared off the face of the earth.  Keep in mind the fact that the EFF launched just 4 years ago and were still able to win 25 seats in parliament in the 2014 election. That shows a track record of progress achieved quickly, something every good politician strives for.

  1. Malema faced criticism head on in terms of his education

Julius has been ridiculed for his matric marks for maths and woodwork. If anything, the ridicule only made him more determined to succeed in education. Malema graduated in 2016 with a BA Degree in Political Leadership and Citizenship from the University of South Africa (UNISA) Malema is also currently completing his honours degree in Philosophy.

  1. Julius only surrounds himself with the best (and smartest) people

The EFF’s national spokesman Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is almost as famous as Julius himself, affectionately known as “the people’s bae,” Ndlozi has far more than just good looks and vocal chords. Mbuyiseni already has a masters degree, if that wasn’t enough, he is currently a PhD student in Political Sociology at WITS. The people’s bae may soon be known as Dr Ndlozi. Having someone like Ndlozi and Floyd Shivambu (also holds a Masters degree) by his side means that the top 3 faces in the EFF are all more than qualified to be political leaders.

White people love to say “I actually like the new Julius but I’m scared coz he hates white people and he wants to get rid of us.” Malema does in fact NOT hate white people, or want us to go anywhere, something he recently clarified while being interviewed by HuffPostSA.

“Whites have naturalised in this country. We cannot imagine South Africa without white people. There’s no white person who is going to be driven into the sea.”

In that interview, Malema even went as far as saying that if he were in power, white south Africans would also be GIVEN land to use. When Juju shows anger for us whites it’s because of the disproportionate way in which we effectively control the South African wealth and economy. Or, it’s the frequent basis at which we perpetuate racism…

Julius is far from perfect but if you examine his growth properly, you will see a leader that appears more than ready for the step up.
