An 11-year-old boy’s hands and feet were bound during a home invasion when he was home alone in KwaZulu-Natal

On Monday 23 January, an 11-year-old boy who was home alone was bound with a scarf during a home invasion on Oak Street in Trenance Park, KwaZulu-Natal.

Child’s hands and legs bound in home invasion

After being notified of the incident, members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene.

When reaction officers arrived, they met with the boy, who explained that he was confronted by two men after opening the security gate to go to a tuck shop.

One of the robbers carried a cane knife.

His hands and legs were bound with a scarf by the suspects.

Suspects flee with valuables

The suspects ransacked the house looking for valuables and took two televisions, bathroom faucets, and other household items were taken.

They attempted to steal copper pipes but were unable to do so.

The suspects then fled into the dense bush at the property’s back.

The victim was able to free himself from his restraints and call for help from neighbors, who contacted RUSA for assistance.

The boy was not hurt in the incident.
