Just because the weather’s foul doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a cuppa joe, and Johannesburg’s got tonnes of places to find a good one.

Motherland Coffee Rosebank: They have the friendliest and knowledgeable baristas in town .This cosy coffee shop has been a buzz for a long time now and we love the Rwandan and Ethiopian variety beans they offer. An ideal place for catching up with some friends over a cup or having a business meeting.

The Whippet: Right in the middle of Linden suburbs, The Whippet make great coffee and are generous with their sizes. They also offer an array of Boutique teas sourced from Malawi with flavours Strawberry and Hibiscus to Mango Infused Green tea. The contemporary meet art feel to the store is great place to enjoy a cup with the delicious breakfast menu. The fact that this place is always packed tells you a lot.

Cramers Coffee: Found right in the inner CBD, this is a hot spot for a quick grab and go or a sit down as you enjoy your coffee with their famous short bread biscuits .Their lattes are a must try.

Bean There Coffee Company: They know their beans and sell their own roast. The place has light and modern interior with great couches to sit and relax. They are found at the trendiest place amongst art galleries, restaurants, and where all the cool kids hang out. There is another outlets in Braamfontein and Cape Town

Father Coffee Braamfontein: The perfect place to get your daily coffee fix. This wooden interior store gives a comfy look and the coffee aroma catches you as you step inside .It is also a great place to mingle and network with  Jozi’s bloggers and aspiring photographers as it’s noticed to be their favourite hangout spot. The best part is purchasing your own beans to take home.

Naked Coffee Melrose Arch: This cosy small café is part of a clothing store and offer beans roasted to perfection .The combination of the two works and one can get coffee, a great seat, read a book whilst another can shop. It has a lovely vibe to it and friendly baristas.

Doubleshot Coffee&Tea: Known as the best Brammie place to get coffee, it definitely serves a great double shot expresso, and they roast right in store .All their hot beverages are a must try. Get a good seat by the window and enjoy a great cuppa.

The Grind Coffee Company: The coffee here is served in a lot of innovative ways from coffee in a cone, to coffee draught and we love it. The place has a funky cool vibe to it, and is part of a cycle store. A good spot for coffee lovers that want to try something  new.

Vovo Telo Parkhurst: This bright and Italian café inspired interiors serve a cup of coffee just right. There is freshly baked breads and croissants placed right in the middle of the store, which is a brilliant idea as one can be tempted to have a great cappuccino with a bagel.

Full Stop : This cosy home-like restaurant in Parktown serve a mean cup of coffee .They open a little later , so ideal  to get a coffee there for brunch .They have great open space at the backyard which is child friendly .
