Police spokesperson, Selvy Mohlala says two people were reported missing since Sunday last week and the additional two were reported missing on Thursday.

“We had two that were missing from Sunday last week, that was an old man and a pupil but over and above that because of the heavy rains that took place yesterday (Thursday) two people were also said to have been missing,”

ONE TEEN AND THREE ELDERS MISSING

“The pupil was 18 and the others are elders, and I don’t have their ages at my disposal but all of them are elderly people. There has been no child that has been reported missing so far.”

According to Mohlala, the pupil was trying to cross the river when he was swept away. The old man was going to check his fishing trap that was set then he was swept away by the river.

“The other ones (two elders) are due to the heavy rains and we suspect that they might have been trying to cross the river or they might have been swept by the floods because it has been raining heavily.”
