Before we look at what takes place in the video, let’s look at what a dash-cam is. As reported in The South African, a dash cam is a video camera that is mounted on the dashboard or windscreen of a car. Generally powered by the car’s 12v system, it continuously records the view of the road and traffic through the windscreen.

Road safety organisation, Arrive Alive, says: “There has been a significant increase in the interest amongst road users globally towards installing dash camera recorders in their cars.”

The drivers are from the United States of America and Canada, and it goes to show that bad drivers are universal.

Some offences are as simple as not yielding to traffic at a circle, and not making sure that it’s safe to pull away from a stop street due to a school bus obstructing the view.

And in conclusion, perhaps the best reason to fit a dash-cam to your car is because the installation of a dash-cam could see a discount. (typically 10% but sometimes as much as 25%) from some insurance company, so it is always worth asking what they can offer.

But for now, enjoy the absolute madness that was captured in this montage of bad drivers. And if there’s one thing to take away from the clip is not repeat what you see.
