Volkswagen Motorsport SA teases mystery car to compete at Simola Hillclimb

Volkswagen Motorsport SA teased a fourth entry to showcase at the Simola Hillclimb event in Knysna.

Volkswagen Motorsport SA posted a social media update alluding to a fourth entry that will compete at the Simola Hillclimb motorsport event in Knysna next month.

There was no confirmation on the name of the model, however it did mention that “all will be revealed”. According to Motorpress, the German carmaker’s top racing drivers – Jonathan Mogotsi and Daniel Rowe will compete in the Class A2 for four-cylinder four-wheel drive cars and will present an intriguing battle between the official Volkswagen South Africa entries at the Simola Hillclimb.

The third entry for the German carmaker is a Supa Cup Polo racecar, according to Volkswagen Motorsport SA.

Volkswagen said: “Volkswagen Motorsport ZA are set to take part in the Simola Hillclimb between 4 – 7 May 2023. They’ll be competing in two Golf 8 R’s, along with a Supa Cup Polo racecar; but they have the wildest of wild cards up their sleeve with their 4th entrant.
