Smarter Mobility Africa LIVE, supported by Alstom, is a creative three-day summit centred around Walking, Cycling and Shared Transport, Public Transport and Electric Vehicles.

What is Smarter Mobility Africa LIVE 2020

Event attendees will get the opportunity to “unpack the smarter mobility landscape in Africa, including the challenges and opportunities brought about by COVID-19 and the progress of governments Green Economy & Smarter Mobility Strategies”.

Utilising the latest virtual conferencing tools Smarter Mobility Africa LIVE supported by Alstom will bring together mobility thought leaders from business and government, to consolidate efforts for accelerating the transition to electric and smart mobility.

The virtual summit will bring together mobility thought leaders from business and government to consolidate efforts and discuss the future of mobility solutions in South African and Africa.

When will it take place

Smarter Mobility Africa LIVE 2020 will be held online from 27 to 29 October 2020 on GenerationHQ, an online platform dedicated to this year’s event. In addition to a packed schedule consisting of talks and panel discussion, Smart Mobility Live will also benefit startups.

Smarter Mobility Africa Startup Program

Smarter Mobility Africa Startup Program is a “stage for startups in Africa, connecting them to leading mobility companies, investors and media”.

“The challenges and needs arising from the mobility landscape in Africa have shifted. This requires innovation and creativity from bold entrepreneurs working hard to create the solutions for today and for tomorrow”.

The event’s startup offer will allow business owners and entrepreneurs to showcase their mobility solutions to “decision-makers looking for innovative solutions”.

Schedule

The keynote address will take place from 9:05 on the 27th, titled Growing Gauteng Through Smart Mobility. This will be followed by panels and talk through the day, including:

  • How to enhance the informal transport sector.

On the second day of the event, we’ll look at various policy options to support electric vehicle development in South Africa, followed by:
