Eighty-five years of motorsport pedigree and over a decade of electric vehicle expertise will be showcased across South Africa’s major cities as Nissan embarks on a series of public activations ahead of the Cape Town E-Prix (ABB FIA Formula-E World Championship) race on February 25, 2023.

Ahead of Cape Town E-Prix

These activations promise to bring all the electrifying action of the Cape Town E-Prix to popular shopping malls in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and Western Cape, where speed enthusiasts can get behind the wheel of Nissan’s Formula-E racecar through a virtually simulated experience.

Nissan is the first and only Japanese manufacturer in Formula-E, with internationally acclaimed drivers Norman Nato and Sacha Fenestraz teaming up on the starting grid in Cape Town for the fifth round of this year’s championship season.

Nissan’s third generation Formula-E race car is packed with 40% more power than its predecessor, now capable of delivering a top speed of over 320 km/h.

The activations will take place in Gauteng at the Menlyn Park Shopping Centre in Pretoria and the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Johannesburg between the 3rd and the 5th of February; in KwaZulu-Natal at the Gateway Theatre of Shopping and the Pavilion Shopping Centre between the 9th and the 12th of February; and in Western Cape at the Blue Route Mall, Tyger Valley Shopping Centre between the 16th to 19th of February.
