A BMW drag race like no other, the BMW XM and the M2 are not rivals in any sense of the word, but they do share one letter: ‘M’.

This BMW drag race features the performance arm’s two newest models: the XM SUV and the M2 coupe. Both models will make their local debuts at the Knysna Simola Hillclimb in early May.

THE XM AND M2 WILL MAKE FOR AN INTERESTING BMW DRAG RACE

The two models face off in an interesting drag race that isn’t a fair match up but makes for interesting viewing, with UK motoring publication Carwow bringing the two models together for a unique BMW drag race.

On the numbers front, the XM is powered by a newly developed M HYBRID drive system comprising a V8 petrol engine and a powerful electric motor.

It produces 480kW and 800Nm from its twin turbo V8 engine with electric assistance. It sends its power via an eight-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels. The all-wheel-drive system will help it in this BMW drag race.
