Limpopo paramedic KILLED by her husband

According to police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo, the woman had a protection order issued against her husband, who was also a paramedic.

A Limpopo paramedic was allegedly shot dead by her estranged husband who then shot himself after the incident.

WOMAN HAD RESTRAINING ORDER

The 44-year-old woman had a protection order issued against her husband, who was also a paramedic, said police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

A preliminary investigation done by the police revealed that Mokhapi Phalandwa went to visit Norman Phalandwa. The woman met her husband at 6:00 on Sunday morning and they rented a room in the area after he had moved out of their marital home.

“It is alleged that the wife visited her husband at his rented room on Sunday morning at about 6:00. He allegedly took out a firearm and shot his wife and, thereafter, shot himself.”

POLICE SPOKESPERSON ON THE CASE

According to Mojapelo, the shooting took place in the Bochum location in the Senwabarwana policing precinct.

“Police were called and on arrival they found both bodies lying in the street with gunshot wounds.” Police have opened murder and inquest cases.

MOTIVE UNKNOWN FOR MURDER-SUICIDE

The husband’s motive for the murder-suicide is not known at this stage.

Police Commissioner in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has urged members of the public to seek advice and assistance when they experienced domestic challenges, as reported by IOL.
