We’re living in an era where clout is currency. And for influencers and YouTube creators, the bigger views, the better the paycheck

But one content creator – who uses the name WhatsUpTre – his quest to trend resulted in him being dragged on social media for all the wrong reasons.

YOUTUBER’S CRUEL PRANK ON HOMELESS MAN

In the YouTube video, WhatsUpTre – real name Trevon Sellers – documented his “good deed” of helping a homeless person.

He says in the video: “Los Angeles, California has the third biggest homeless population in the United States. Today, it’s my job to make sure there is one less hungry person on the street.”

Tre then approaches a homeless man, whom he offers to buy a hot meal for.

“I got you. God bless you,” he tells the man.

After purchasing a takeaway from Wendy’s (the equivalent of Mcdonald’s), Tre returns to the homeless man. But instead of giving the man the meal, he eats it in front of him!

He says: “I was homeless myself, so I want you to get back on your feet…I hope you enjoy this.”

Tre then devours the entire meal, leaving the hungry man heartbroken.

The shock-factor video is nothing new for the vlogger, who has similar controversial clips on his YouTube channel.

STAGED OR SIMPLY CRUEL?

In the comments section, Twitter users had mixed feelings about the YouTuber.

Some felt the video was staged, while others were shocked at the young man’s unbelievable cruelty.

@BenjaminPDixon: “Never met someone who needed their a** beat in front of the world as much as this dude.”

@MilkMystical: “Staged or not, that was pretty evil action on his part. I also still don’t understand the trend of doing kind things for others and needing to not only record it but proceed to post it to social media.”

@brkofficially: “Even if this was a skit, nah.”
