You can actually kiss your partner when they have the flu

Good news for all you winter-time lovers out there.

You can actually kiss your par

Maybe you don’t want to kiss your loved one when they are sneezing all over the place, but according to a study this doesn’t necessarily have to be the case.

Huisgenoot.com reported that flu cannot actually be spread through a kiss.

This comes after Professor Ron Eccles, director of the Common Cold and Nasal Centre at Cardiff University, said viruses such as colds and flu’s are spread through mucus and not saliva.

“Unless you have a bad cough, and some of the respiratory system has made its way into the saliva, the cold virus will not be transmitted by kissing,” the professor said.

Most of the time people will be freaked out when someone is wiping their nose the whole night. In fact it’s been found that 86% of people would rather hold hands other than kiss if their partner has the flu. While 57% would actually reject a kiss if the other person has a cold.

However, you can catch a cold by holding hands with your partner. According to Professor Eccles this is because hands can easily become contaminated with the virus. People who are sick wipe their noses with their hands or sneeze into their hands. Rather be careful with that.

Therefore, you can catch a cold by touching things in public places. And well, if you literally sneeze on someone of course – so rather just share a sizzling kiss to show your love.
