Her rise to prominence as Miss SA was against all the odds – so if Shudufhadzo Musida says she wants to be president, you better not write her off just yet. The striking beauty queen has Tweeted about her political aspirations this week – but as she’ll have to learn very quickly in this particular industry, you can’t please everyone.
I want to be president ????

Musida’s five-word Tweet garnered so much attention last night, that she became a trending topic on Thursday morning. The ambitious pageant winner had her fair share of support – but, as per usual, the haters also came out to play:
In Jamaica right now a former beauty queen is running for the presidential seat, she is doing great. Get cues from her too, you can do it????????????????????????????????????????

Never seen any Miss SA being bullied the way Shudu is ????

Musida has become the latest high-profile celebrity figure to declare an interest in becoming president. Most recently, rapper AKA stated that he’d like a crack at the top job. However, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Another man who made the transition from entertainment to politics was Hlaudi Motsoeneng. He tried to run for president in 2019, but hilariously, the former SABC executive crashed and burned – earning just 0.02% of the vote.
For now, one would assume Cyril Ramaphosa’s seat on the throne is safe – but Shudufhadzo Musida is one of those people who can achieve anything if she puts her mind to it. And, famously, you write this girl off at your peril…
