A young bride-to-be lived through one of the biggest fears of many brides who are about to tie the knot – getting abandoned by the groom on the day of the wedding. Kayley Stead, 27 from Swansea in Wales, got stood up by her partner of four years on the day of the wedding. Instead of cancelling the whole thing, she decided to go through with it and ended up having one big party surrounded by her supportive friends and family.

According to reports, she still hasn’t heard from the runaway groom who has seemingly decided to ghost her.

Kayley Stead was not about to make her £12000 (R233k) wedding go to waste.

And so even though her groom decided not to pitch, she went ahead with her wedding and says that she does not regret it.

According to Mirror UK, Kayley went ahead with her wedding entrance, meal, speeches, and dances and even posed for professional photos without the groom.

She also told the publication that she last saw her groom at 4 pm the day before and thought that everything was fine – until the morning of the wedding and he was MIA.

“We’ve tried to reach out to him, but I’ve had no response from him, no reason why. I’ve had no explanation – not that I want one now, because it’s too far along the line,” she said.

Turning the day around

She also added that she was shocked by his actions but decided to go ahead with the wedding because she didn’t want to remember the day as “complete sadness”.

“It was an absolute shock, I had no indication he was going to do this but seeing my girls distraught as well made me want to turn the day around.”
