In what’s shaping up to be a crazy week for universities across the country, the UJ late application service is giving students a last-minute option to study at the University of Johannesburg in 2018.
The scramble has been induced by Jacob Zuma’s grandiose announcement on university fees in December, where he declared that higher education would be free to most students in 2018. This has opened the door to more learners than ever before.
We’ve already assessed what the Tswhane University of Technology has to offer. But here, we’re looking at how UJ can accommodate our 11th-hour students.
This institution advises against any walk-in inquiries, and suggests sticking to the online method. Much like TUT, the use of campus facilities may not be available to those who turn up.
The late application service is open for one week only, from the 8th – 12th January, and closing on Friday. The university will be accepting applications right up until 16:00, but please do not leave it this late. Due to the high volume of late applicants, the service may shut down earlier than advertised.
The only way to find out what you can still apply for is through the UJ late application website: Register here to find what courses are still taking applications.
You can also contact the university call centre on 011 559 4555, to enquire about your application status. However, applicants are advised to wait three days before ringing up to ask if they have been accepted.
