‘Umkhokha’s’ Deli Malinga starts a campaign to assist KZN flood victims

Generations and Umkhokha actress – Deli Malinga has joined a list of Mzansi and international celebs who’ve come forward to assist KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) flood, victims.  

She started a campaign called Your Pain is Our Pain – which appeals to her industry friends to donate clothes, food, and other items.

DELI MALINGA: ‘YOUR PAIN IS MY PAIN’  

The popular actress Deli Malinga – who’s played roles in Umkhokha, The Queen, and Generations revealed on her Instagram account that she’s started a campaign to help KZN flood victims.  

“We are an NPO who started an operation ‘Your Pain is Our Pain’ campaign, we’re working closely with the communities.”

“We decided to intervene in the KZN situation for all human beings affected.”

“We distributed the above letter yesterday which was meant for colleagues and friends in the performing arts sector around Gauteng.”  

The actress said she started sending the letter to her Whatsapp contacts and it was already late as she lost someone to her.  

She’s thanked everyone that’s contributed already and said the donated items will be sent to the flood victims in KZN.

CELEBS WHO ASSISTED IN THE KZN FLOODS  

Other Mzansi celebs who have assisted the KZN flood victims include businesswoman and reality TV star- Ayanda Ncwane – who visited the Endwendwe home village and donated blankets and water.   

Other celebs include Tbo Touch, Zakes Bantwini, DJ Tira, and Nomcebo Zikode from the United Creatives of South Africa.   

International megastar – Charlize Theron also began an outreach in an effort to assist the flood victims.  

The latest death toll stands at 435 people – which is a decline from an initial figure of 448 – according to Police Minister Bheki Cele.  

Cele also revealed that nine victims had been shot before they were claimed by the floods and that a further four people had ‘passed away naturally’, and cannot be classified as victims of the KZN floods.
