Royal Baby: What will The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton name their third child? Here’s what the bookies say:

The Royal baby is due to be born any day now, and it seems the bets on what the name of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s third baby will be, are heating up.

According to Forbes, as is their usual manner, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, have managed to maintain strict control over the information released about the birth of their third child – including when the child is to be born, the gender and of course the baby’s name.

For the baby’s exact birth date, the bookies are wondering if it will coincide with any of the other important commemorations in April such as the Queen’s birthday on April 21, Saint George’s (England’s patron saint) Day on April 23, or William and Kate’s wedding anniversary on April 29.

It seems the Queen’s birthday is the favourite among bookies, with the odds now running at 10-to-1.

What will Kate Middleton and Prince William call their third child?

What we know for sure is, the royal custom is for babies to be named after past or present royals. And the official royal title for the new royal baby will be His Royal Highness Prince or Princess… of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The names Alice, Arthur and Victoria were some for the favourites among the bookies, but as of recently, the odds shifted towards Mary, which went from 16-to-1 to 3-to-1 for a girl and Philip for a boy. Mary is actually also one of the queen’s middle names as well as her grandmother’s name.

Philip refers to the future baby’s great-grandfather, Prince Philip.

Even though Diana was among the highest ranked, it is one of Princess Charlotte’s middle names, along with Elizabeth.

Prince George has Alexander and Louis among his middle names.

After the name Philip, some are betting on Arthur, Frederick and Albert.
