British pop-rockers The 1975 are making their debut on South African shores later this year after they were confirmed as the headliners for the Rocking The Daisies festival on Wednesday morning.

Who are The 1975?

The band are coming fresh off a double-award winning appearance at the Brit Awards last month, where they scooped the gongs for Best Group and Best British Album thanks to their third record, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. The album made it a hat-trick of chart-toppers for the Manchester-based outfit.

The four-piece have been a critical and commercial success in the UK, and now it seems like they’re ready to hit the international stage. Here’s how you can secure your tickets to watch The 1975 live.

Tickets for The 1975 in South Africa – what you need to know:

When will The 1975 perform in South Africa?

They will be the main act at the Rocking The Daisies festival, on either the 4th, 5th or 6th of October. With them being the headliners, they’re likely to close the show on the 6th, but we’re still awaiting official confirmation.

Where will The 1975 play live in South Africa?

Rocking The Daisies takes place on the Cloof Wine Estate, in the small town of Darling, Western Cape. It’s about an hour and 15 minutes north of Cape Town.

How can I buy tickets?

You have to purchase them through the festival’s official website. They go on sale on Tuesday 26 March. You can either purchase a ticket for access to the show or get the full camping package if you want to stay for the duration.

How much will tickets cost?

This will be the third phase of tickets released for the festival, and they are R995 per person. Should you want to take up the option to camp, there are several options available, and prices range from R225 – R545. The remainder of these passes also go on sale next Tuesday, too.
