Presented by Rainbow Nation Events, McGettigan’s and Fairmont The Palm, the show will include a special screening of their recently released documentary film charting the bands’ meteoric rise from its humble beginnings in the Winelands of Stellenbosch. But the lead-up to the appearance of the band in the country did not come without its challenges. Due to strict laws and customs in the UAE, the band will have to forego their full name and settle for the abbreviated version instead.

Winner of the 2000 South African Music Award for Best Rock Album with Surpass The Powers and signed to Sony very early on in their career, no other African rock group can claim to be the soundtrack to so many people’s lives. Their reputation as SA’s most dominant live act was driven home with stadium shows alongside INXS, Lenny Kravitz, Smashing Pumpkins, Portishead, Beastie Boys, Goo Goo Dolls and The Cult.

After a hiatus in 2001 to pursue solo efforts, the band reformed in 2006 due to popular demand with a new album Peace Breaker, released in 2007. In 2010 they returned with appearances at South Africa’s premier rock festivals and they went on to perform as opening act for U2 in Cape Town and Johannesburg. They performed in the UK in 2011 with a sold out show at The Shepherds Bush Empire as well as a slot at The Isle Of Wight Festival that year.
Doors are at 19h00, with the band taking to the stage at 21h00. Buy tickets soon to avoid disappointment in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
