That World Cup moment: Young fan dresses up as Siya Kolisi for birthday party

Siya – who has been hailed as “Captain Fantastic” in South Africa – shared the post with his 600 000 followers in which the little boy’s father described how his son dressed up as Siya for his birthday party.

Joseph Mpyana made sure his son Amani got the birthday he hoped for.

In the Instagram post, the Move Africa co-founder explained how he helped his little boy recreate Springbok captain Siya Kolisi’s glory moment when lifting the Webb Ellis Trophy after the Rugby World Cup finale in 2019.

Wearing the Springbok jersey with pride

According to IOL, while enjoying his birthday, Amani took a nasty fall from his bike and had to receive medical attention.

“The day took a turn when we had to rush him to @dr.thinus.van.niekerk. Amani came second best against the concrete floor, crashing face-first off his bike. He took a knock on his front teeth chipping the one and busting his lip open,” wrote Mpyana.

“Good thing he was wearing his @bokrugby jersey cause that meant there was no way he was going to stay down.

“As soon as we were done with the visit to the Dr he was ready for the second half of his party.”

Siya responds

Siya later responded in the comment section, before reposting it onto his own feed: “Love this so much,” he wrote.

“This is everything! What a beautiful legacy you have brother on the next generation of children,” other Instagram users commented on Siya’s repost.

“It’s the beard and thigh strapping for me,” said another.

“You inspire more people than you know Siya, we all love you and cherish you captain.”

“How many times can I like the same photo,” others said.
