In 2021, Springbok rugby captain Siya Kolisi had a little confession… He admitted to having a bad odour problem, especially after a rugby game.
This time, he admitted to skipping regular showers and struggling to maintain a clean look. He called on all the men in Mzansi to wash regularly and said “gone are the days” of looking like a mess.
SIYA KOLISI URGES SA MEN TO TAKE REGULAR BATHS
In a campaign for Dove, SA’s golden boy had a message for the men of Mzansi. In an Instagram video posted on Monday 14 February, Kolisi urged South African men to take regular showers to control their body odour.
The 30-year-old rugby player pushes his message across as he scrubs down with Dove’s shower gel.
He captioned the video: “You see, I fail when it comes to this. I’ve been called out for skipping regular showers, even the beard is messy.”
“But chaps, gone are the days when looking like a mess was a sign of being a man.”
“Wash, save and be within this Valentine’s.”

Kolisi posted the same video on Twitter that left Mzansi tweeps in stitches. One tweep wrote: “I think they’re giving our captain too much creative control.”
Another tweep said: “Who writes Siya’s ads?”
