R183m Lotto winner calls money ‘root of evil’ after blowing it all

Sharon Tirabassi, a lottery winner from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, in a short time, lived and lost a life that many can only imagine. In the early 2000s, Tirabassi won 10 million dollars or just over R183 million in Lotto money. As anyone would in her position, she left her 9-5 job and started blowing all of her cash.

While the money stretched far enough to get her and her husband brand new cars, a luxury house, and various trips around the world, soon she found that it wasn’t as much as she led herself to believe.

Woman who blew R185 million lotto now says money is the root of all evil

What would you do if you suddenly had more than one hundred million in your bank account? A lucky Canadian woman won a whopping R183 million and almost instantly started spending.

According to an IOL report, Sharon bought a lavish house, designer clothes, and four cars, a yellow Hummer, a Mustang, a Dodge Charger, and a Cadillac Escalade.

She also paid her neighbour’s rent, loaned her friends large sums of money, and gave her parents one million dollars and her siblings 175 million dollars.

Not stopping there, Sharon took her friends on more than one all-expenses paid trips to Florida, Las Vegas, California, and the Caribbean.

Back to reality

Before she knew it, she only had $750 000 left and was quickly brought back to reality.

“And that was time for the fun to stop and to just go back to life,” says Sharon after learning of her bank balance.

Now she has been applying for part-time jobs and reflecting on life as a millionaire. According to her money is the root of all evil especially if you don’t know how to manage it.
