The 24th edition of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) heads to Sun City on Saturday. The nominees are some of the biggest names in local music such as Shekhinah, Mi Casa, Prime Circle and more.
Somizi Mhlongo will be the main host and he will be joined by radio star Dineo Ranaka and comedian Mpho Popps.

Duo/Group of the Year
Newcomer of the Year
Album of the Year
Rock Album of the Year

Tigi by Sands which was nominated in the Record of the Year category and Lake by the Ocean by Mobi Dixon which was up for Best Remix was disqualified from the nominations list.
Sands is a citizen of eSwatini (formerly Swaziland) and as such is excluded from being considered for a SAMA in the Record of the Year category. Mobi Dixon’s Lake by the Ocean is a remix of an international song which is in contravention of the SAMA rules.
The main awards ceremony is on Saturday, 2 June at the Sun City Resort. You can watch it live from 20:00 on SABC 1.
