A young Springboks fan showing his support for South Africa ahead of the game against Ireland has gone viral. Hilariously, the supporter was captured thousands of kilometres away at the All Blacks match against England in New Zealand.

Like SA, who beat Ireland 27-20 at Loftus, New Zealand won their game 16-15 on home turf.

SPRINGBOKS FAN AT ALL BLACKS MATCH GOES VIRAL

On social media, a screenshot of a Springboks fan spotted at the Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin, went viral.

In the image, the young supporter showed off his green and gold jersey in a sea of black and white ones.

“Spotted at the All Blacks game,” read a post by Rugby Mad.

In the comments section, amused South Africans named the fan a “legend.”

Hours later and thousands of kilometres away, the Springboks would beat Ireland in a test match at Loftus for the first time since 2016.

WHEN WILL SA PLAY ALL BLACKS?

The Springboks will meet their old rivals, the All Blacks, in two test matches in the coming months.

SA will play New Zealand on 31 August at Johannesburg – Emirates Airline Park. A week later the old foes will face off on 7 September at the DHL Stadium, Cape Town.

The last time the countries played each other was at the Rugby World Cup final in France last year. The Springboks went on to win the game and their fourth title. Their rivals, who have three titles to their name, are no doubt keen to equalise.

According to Planet Rugby, the All Blacks are set to tour South Africa for a three-Test series in 2026 with five-midweek matches against the four URC franchises – the Bulls, Lions, Sharks, and Stormers – and a game against South Africa.

A year later, the countries will meet again at the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
