‘The Daily Show’ moves from Trevor Noah’s apartment to Times Square

Trevor Noah returned to a new studio last night, after recording episodes of the show from his New York City apartment for a year and a half.

South African-born comedian, and host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah, returned to a new studio last night after recording episodes of the hit show from his New York City apartment for a year and a half, due to the pandemic.  

Noah recorded season 27 of the late-night show inside Viacom CBS headquarters, at 1515 Broadway on Comedy Central (Channel 122) at 23:11 last night.   

“Just like the rest of the world, we’re excited to leave our homes and get back to working in the same space as other human beings.”

“We’re not 100% back to normal yet, but we’re gonna make the best of it, and enjoy making the show from the heart of Times Square.” said Trevor.  

South Africans will only be able to see new episodes tonight (15 September) which is one day after the show airs in the United States of America.

COMEDY CENTRAL CONFIRMS THE MOVE

Comedy Central released a statement which read:

“The show moves from Trevor’s apartment to the heart of New York City.

“It drops the social distancing moniker while holding onto the intimacy and creative elements, that drove the success of the Emmy-nominated hit during the pandemic.”  

The channel further stated that the new studio will include state-of-the-art production capabilities, which will allow the show to create and deliver a greater range of content across all platforms.  

Guest appearances of the first week will include legendary actress and producer, Gabrielle Union, Dr Anthony Fauci, from America’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, NBA star and author, Carmelo Anthony and, actor and director LeVar Burton.
