RIP: ‘Generations’ actress Sindi Buthelezi has passed away

Tributes are pouring in for the late ‘Ashes-to-Ashes’ and ‘Generations’ actress Sindi Buthelezi who passed away last night.

Actress Sindi Buthelezi who was popularly known for her role of Zintle Mathe on Generations has passed away.

The 32-year-old actress’s death was confirmed by entertainment commentator Phil Mphela and her sister Nonhlanhla Sikhakhane on social media last night.

The actress was born and raised in the East Rand (Ekurhuleni) in a small town called Ratanda and pursued her love for acting at a local community hall performing drama to nurture and grow her acting skills.

Sindi’s sister Nonhlanhla said a statement from the family would follow later today (28 July).

Details surrounding the cause of her death are unknown at this stage.

SINDI’S TV ROLES

She joined Generations in July 2013 to play the character of Zinhle Mathe who was Chopper’s (Mandla Gaduka) girlfriend on the SABC1 soapie.

Mandla and the late actress exited Generations together and were co-stars again on Ashes-to-Ashes where Sindi played the role of Patience Khumalo on the e.tv telenovela in 2016.

Sindi played the role of Ntombi in season twelve of SABC 1’s HIV/AIDS drama Soul City in 2014 and briefly portrayed a news reporter in Isibaya season three.
