A British reality TV star shared her near-death experience after forgetting to remove a tampon she had inserted three months ago!

The Love Island star contracted toxic shock syndrome – which can be fatal – after she became violently ill

The 31-year-old made the embarrassing revelation on ITV’s Shopping With Keith Lemon this week.

TAMPON MISHAP LANDS REALITY TV IN HOSPITAL

Sharing her terrifying ordeal, the reality TV star revealed how she “almost died” from Toxic Shock Syndrome.

She said: “I’m not a doctor, I don’t know much about that [TSS], but I know you are not meant to leave a tampon inside for more than, I think it’s nine hours, I think that’s the max.

“There was a tampon inside me for three months.

“When the doctor found it, it was stuck to my cervix. I was so ill. I did not know what was going on.”

Maura also claimed that the tampon mishap happens more often than is spoken about

She continued: “Young girls might not have noticed.

“Like you go on a night out, what if you get really drunk and forgot? These things actually do happen and people don’t speak about it”.
