In the 2020 edition, there will be a new layout to ensure that everyone gets a front seat to the action.

The VIP Stud Club, Paddock Sites, The Kenilworth Room and the Peninsula Jazz Room will offer a distinct racing and lifestyle experience, treating guests to an array of hospitality and entertainment options.

There is a winner’s purse of R1.5 million. The country’s best thoroughbreds will be running in the 1600m race.

Fashion

The L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival colours are their signature “Blue and White,” and guests are required to style themselves accordingly. The dress code for this event is smart and elegant. Stiletto heels are discouraged due to the terrain, though hats or fascinators are encouraged. Gentlemen are required to wear jackets and ties, cravats or a smart, open neck shirt and trousers. With fashion being a central part of the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival, there will be a Best Dressed and Best Hat competition.

The Best Dressed Lady will win a return trip for two to London, United Kingdom. This will include a five-night hotel stay during the British summer, and two tickets to attend the L’Ormarins Luncheon at the Qatar Glorious Goodwood Racing Festival on Friday, 31st July 2020.

Partners of the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival have sponsored prizes, including prizes from Cartier, L’Ormarins Brut.
