Queen Elizabeth II’s death was confirmed by Buckingham Palace on Thursday 8 September. The Queen, age 96, spent 70 years on the throne making history as the longest-reining monarch. Her children and grandchildren rushed to her side at Balmoral Castle, where she passed away.
