Members of the royal family, including Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and Prince William recently enjoyed watching a series of Wimbledon matches in the royal box on Centre Court.

On Saturday, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex watched Meghan’s close friend Serena Williams take on Romanian tennis player Simona Halep for the women’s title. Halep eventually triumphed Williams in the Ladies’ singles final.

Along with the two royals, Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, also made an appearance.

Ahead of the Ladies’ singles final, the Duchess of Cambridge also met junior players Kamilla Bartone, Oksana Selekhmeteva, Polina Kudermetova, and Giulia Morlet at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

Earlier in the championship, Kate, who is the Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), watched Harriet Dart take Christina Mchale on Court 14.

Today, she is back at Centre Court with Prince William to watch Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the Men’s single Wimbledon final.

Roger Federer is Prince George’s favourite tennis player:

Last week, Federer revealed he had recently played tennis with Prince George – Kate and Prince William’s oldest – describing the young royal as a “cute boy” who had “good” technique. Federer spoke about the lesson during a press conference on 4 July.

Federer is believed to be the young royal’s favourite player and is a long-term friend of the Middletons – attending Pippa’s wedding to James Matthews in 2017 with wife Mirka.

He said the lesson took place at Kate’s parents’ house in Bucklebury.

“At that stage, it’s all about just touching the ball…same with my boys,” he said.
