The Bachelor SA is set to feature an interesting twist as two prominent contestants are part of the cast of 22 battling it out to win model Marc Buckner’s heart.

Miss SA finalist Xia Narain and DA MP Phumzile van Damme’s younger sister, Qiniso, will also be participating in the reality show. Narain and Van Damme will go head to head with 20 other contestants to win the affections of the 36-year-old Capetonian.

M-Net has published the profiles of all the women on its website. Miss SA 2019 finalist Narain is from Durban and reached the top 16 stage of the beauty pageant.

‘The Bachelor SA’: Narain’s fact-file

Narain holds a bachelor’s degree in general and industrial psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

“She is fun, engaging, and incredibly likeable but, astonishingly, she has never been in a serious relationship. One explanation is that she’s been travelling the world for the past nine years. Xia has graced international runways at several fashion weeks and worked as a photographic and commercial model across Europe and Asia,” the website states.

Van Damme fact-file

Van Damme is said to be a feminist studying for a master’s degree in social anthropology at the University of Cape Town. She was named one of Cosmopolitan magazine’s next-generation African female leaders.

“When Qiniso is not having the time of her life in front of the cameras, or immersed in her books, you’ll find her hiking on Table Mountain or cooking for friends,” her profile states.

13 weeks of ‘The Bachelor SA’ fun

It appears viewers will be in for an exciting 13 weeks as judging by the profiles of all 22 contestants, each woman brings her own unique personality and sense of adventure.

M-Net publicity head Lani Lombard said Buckner was the perfect catch as he is an engaging conversationalist and well versed in a variety of topics.

Eligible bachelor Buckner

“When he’s not exploring foreign destinations – often in the company of one of his favourite people in the world, his mom – or analysing economic trends to boost his bank account – you will find Marc in the great outdoors. Hiking, kayaking, snorkelling, sky-diving, or enjoying a “picnic with a view” count among his best-loved activities,” said Lombard.
