The England squad, also known as the Three Lions, received a heartwarming welcome upon arriving in Germany for Euro 2024. Many of the players, known for their devotion to their furry companions, found portraits of their dogs dressed in regal attire waiting for them in their hotel rooms.

This delightful gesture by the German hosts went down a treat with the Euro 2024 favourites. The Three Lions’ official Instagram account even shared photos of nine of the portraits, inviting fans to pick their favourite.

Euro 2024: Royal Dogs Steal the Show

Eberechi Eze’s Shar Pei stole the show with its enigmatic expression, somewhere between disdain and exhaustion. Adorned in a flowing white gown, oversized pearls, and a crown, the pup certainly looked the part of royalty.

Meanwhile, Dean Henderson’s dog, a regal Rottweiler, exuded an air of authority. Captain Harry Kane’s chocolate Labrador appeared positively thrilled, tongue lolling out, perhaps dreaming of a post-tournament walkies despite the precarious crown perched on its head.

Lewis Dunk, known for his no-nonsense approach on the pitch, seemed to have a pair of surprisingly flamboyant pups. These Cockapoos resembled dashing characters from a historical drama rather than the companions of a stoic defender.

Euro 2024: Canine Companions in Fancy Dress

Conor Gallagher’s usual transfer speculation was replaced by a rather fierce-looking Chow Chow, perfectly suited to its purple robes and hefty amulet.

Backup goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, boasted a very regal Rottweiler sporting a dazzling gold crown. However, Jordan Pickford’s Cavapoo seemed utterly bewildered by its newfound royal attire. Perhaps it’s well aware that Pickford remains a guaranteed starter for Everton and the national team!

Goalkeeping Woof Woes?

Speaking of goalkeepers and their dogs, Aaron Ramsdale’s sizeable, fluffy friend also wore a rather unsettled expression. Maybe it mirrored the Arsenal man’s anxieties about his future with the club, despite previously highlighting his dog’s role in relieving stress.
