The falling-out between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the Royal family is much deeper than most would have ever imagined. That’s according to an explosive new tell-all book written by Tom Bower.

Bower has written several books about the royals and his latest instalment, titled Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors is as juicy as it gets.

According to the book, some of the tension stems from Meghan Markle’s Vanity Fair cover in 2017, which was the first time she publicly acknowledged her relationship with Prince Harry.

Bower alleges that the Windsors were outraged by the article, particularly because  they’d specifically instructed Meghan to not talk about Harry publicly. At the time, they had been spotted together on a few occasions but had never done any press about each other. Meghan then went back to her PR agency and demanded that they instruct Vanity Fair to change their article, but they refused.

As we know, things only went on to become worse between the couple and the rest of the royals, culminating in that interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they dropped bombshell after bombshell.

Bower claims the aftermath of that interview proved to be devastating. At some point, Queen Elizabeth said something to the effect of “Thank goodness Meghan is not coming,” when Prince Phillip died a month after the interview aired.

Harry and Meghan have been living in the United States since 2020 after they decided to resign from their royal duties.
