South African-born billionaire businessman Elon Musk is a hot topic of discussion these days for his questionable money moves. And poking fun at the “Chief Twit” is popular flame-grilled chicken restaurant Nando’s.

The cheeky eatery has created another hilarious ad – this time praising the people of Mzansi for their resilience.

NANDO’S NAME DROPS ELON MUSK IN LATEST AD

It’s a widely known fact that Pretoria-born Elon Musk left SA to start a life in Canada, and later the US – becoming a financial force to be reckoned with. It’s also known that the wealthy man has repeatedly stated that he does not consider SA to be his home.

The world’s richest man has a fleet of companies to his name, including Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, and recently acquiring Twitter.

Last year, Elon Musk revealed plans for the first human-bound mission to Mars by 2023.

But Nando’s thinks that SA has the capabilities of competing in the space race and beating the ex-South African to Mars.

In their tongue-in-cheek ad, Nando’s reveals how challenges of living in SA – like load shedding and crater-size potholes – have been “preparing us for years”.

Taking a jab at Elon and his new role as “Chief Twit” – Nando’s quipped: “America has made you slow. Too much tweeting”.

“No power doesn’t mean we’re powerless”, it sarcastically added.

But Elon Musk was not the only person to catch flames.

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, Eskom, and the “voetsekkers” – those purposely choosing to leave Mzansi for good, like Elon – also caught stray bullets.
