There’s some good news for you if you’re keen on catching some live sports action, but have not subscribed to DStv Premium for the month. MultiChoice is opening all its Supersport channels for all subscribers.
As Channel24 reports, the pay-TV giant has experienced a surge in viewership, thanks to the Fifa World Cup and – as a way of thanking viewers – it has made all its 13 Supersport channels available to all subscribers in South Africa for a period of 18 days, starting on Friday, 13 July and running until the end of the month.
This was confirmed in a statement issued out by MultiChoice on Wednesday:
“Sport has a beautiful way of uniting friends and families, and sometimes even strangers. This is our way of thanking our customers for their support,” CEO, Calvo Mawela said.
There’s plenty of live sports action this coming weekend and the big one is the World Cup final on Sunday, which will be preceded by the tournament’s third and fourth-place play-off contested by Belgium and the loser in tonight’s final between Croatia and England.
For cricket lovers, there’s a chance to catch the Proteas in action, as they take on Sri Lanka in Galle, with the first Test starting on Thursday.

Super Rugby is also in its business end, with teams scurrying for playoff spots and, thanks to MultiChoice opening everything up, DStv Compact, Access and Family subscribers will get a rare chance to catch the rest of competition… well, except for the final – which falls on August.
