It is time for the annual MTN Bushfire 2019 festival to kick off!

The Bushfire Festival is set to run from 24 to 26 May 2019 in Swaziland. This will be the 13th Bushfire Festival which was actually dubbed one of the “7 African music festivals you really have to see” by CNN.

MTN Bushfire 2019: What it’s about

The festival is eSwatini’s internationally acclaimed music and arts festival, that celebrates creative expression whilst promoting social responsibility, stimulating the economy and drawing talent and tourists from across Africa and around the world.

“Each year a multi-generational global community of approximately 29 000 ‘bring their fire’ to the scenic farmlands of the Malkerns Valley to experience the three-day event.

“More than simply a music festival, MTN Bushfire is a holistic experience made up of a rich texture of arts, cultures, crafts, food markets and specialized zones that combine to create an explosive three-day event and a memorable take-home experience.”

MTN Bushfire 2019: What to expect

Festival-goers can expect an improvement in the overall festival experience with a host of new features to make the festival weekend one of seamless entertainment and fun.

The festival offers a marketplace, ‘glamping’, music concerts, a food village and kid zone.

This year guests will also be able to get in early to set up camp on 24 May.

“Over the last decade, MTN Bushfire welcomed a diverse mix of guests, from families with children of all ages, to those looking to party late into the night.

“And all MTN Bushfire guests will now be able to enjoy the festival even longer – with the announcement that all main campsites will be open from 24 May – so now you can get in early, set up camp and relax.”

This year’s lineup also includes a range of performing acts including Black Motion and Granmah. The festival has four stages with different acts performing over the course of the weekend to choose from.

Over the past decade, MTN Bushfire has continually ‘brought its fire’ with a significant percentage of profits supporting local charities including Young Heroes, an initiative that supports over 1,000 AIDS orphans.
