1.Bring and Braai Family Fun Day –  Gloucestershire

When: Saturday 2nd July – 10:00am

Where: Cotswold Country Park & Beach Spratsgate Lane, Cirencester GL7 6DF

What: Imagine a park area full of braai’s ready and waiting for you to fire up the coals, sizzle your own marinated meat and engage in endless homely banter. This public event hosted by Peter Oberauer and Ceinwen Naish Winrow welcomes all who are ready and willing and only requires you to click on “going” on the events page here.

2. Saffa Ladies Lunch – Banstead, Surrey

When: Sunday 3rd July – 12:00am

Where: Zizzi’s – 1 High St, Banstead SM7 2NE

What: It goes without saying how much us saffa ladies all love and crave a solid session of food, wine and endless chattering. So why not wine, dine and be divine at this public lunch event hosted by the The Saffa Ladies.

3. Bamba Zonke UK’s Annual Summer Ball – Surrey

When: Saturday 2nd July – 7:00pm

Where: Avorians Cricket Club, Cobham KT11 1HB

What: Join this quirky group of South Africans at their annual Summer Ball for a little fancy dress, champagne and of course some dancing. Tickets are going for £50 (but £45 for members). The Bamba Zonke group came together with one thing in common –  they had all spent time in sub-Saharan Africa, be that Zambia, Zimbabwe or South Africa. And now this growing facebook group meets up six times a year to simply get together around festivities just as we South Africans love to do. Get up and go to the Summer Ball – the price includes a champagne reception!

4. Braai at the Bat and Ball – Fordingbridge, New Forest District

When: Friday 8th July

Where: Bat & Ball, Salisbury Road, Braemore Fordingbridge SP6 2EA

What: For those South Africans in the Bournemouth area, the next braai will be hosted at the The Bat & Ball in Fordingbridge. Not only does this pub give you a little something extra with their take on the unusual choices of kangaroo and crocodile, but they endeavour to combine South African influences too. So bring along a group of friends and get stuck into this pub!

5. Barry Hilton Evolver – London

When: Friday 8th July – 8:00pm

Where: The Grand 21- 25 St John’s Hill, Clapham Junction SW11 1TT

What: Do we even need to explain who Barry Hilton is? Only the most quintessential South African comedic giant. With thirty years of touring and six children, a couple ex-wives, a new wife, air miles, movies, famous friends and a Lifestyle Achiever Award under his belt; he is the epitome of comedy. He can take down any crowd with his dynamic play on words and infectious versatility. Seated tickets for his new show “Evolver” start from £22 and are going quickly – so hurry up to get in on this laugh a minute!
