A celebration of song with Aviva Pelham and other talented UCT alumni

Celebrated South African singer and UCT alumnus Aviva Pelham and the University of Cape Town Trust (UK Registered Charity 803042) invite you to join them for a celebration of music and song featuring talented UCT alumni from the South African College of Music on Thursday 24 October 2013.

Aviva Pelham is a lead ambassador for the UCT Opera School Fundraising Campaign. A decade of funding from the Andrew W Mellon Foundation has seen the Opera School greatly widen access to disadvantaged students, who, without this financial support, would have been unable to realise their goals and ambitions.

UCT is enormously proud that many of these students, like Pretty Yende, Nkosazana Dimande, Kimi Skota, Fikile Mvinjelwa, Musa Ngqungwana, Pumeza Matshikiza, Luthando Qave, and many others, now perform on the world stage. UCT’s challenge is to find funding which will sustain the UCT Opera School for the next decade and beyond.

Please join them for an enchanting evening with some of UCT’s most gifted alumni.

All proceeds from ticket sales for this event will go direct to the Opera School and will enable more gifted young people to follow their dreams.
