The loss of flagship sponsor Cell C saw the Miss South Africa 2019 pageant delayed but fears of cancellation have been put to bed by reassurances from Sun International.

The pageant’s finale will take place on Women’s Day 9 August at the Sun Arena, Time Square, Pretoria, and will be broadcast live on both M-Net and Mzansi Magic on DSTV.

The 35 semi-finalists have been chosen from an enormous volume of entries. 19 of the entrants currently reside in Gauteng with nine of those hailing from Pretoria. Five of the ladies come from the Western Cape, the same number hail from Kwa-Zulu Natal.

35 will become 16 on 11 July when the finalists for Miss South Africa 2019 are announced.

Last year’s Miss South Africa, Tamaryn Green represented our country at the Miss Universe pageant with distinction finishing as runner-up to Catriona Gray of the Philippines. 2018 Miss SA runner-up Thulisa Keyi went to Miss World, as should this year’s first princess.
