US Drag Queen Mayhem Miller will visit South Africa for a short tour that will include a performance in Cape Town and another in Johannesburg.

Mayhem starred in the Netflix original film Cherry Pop in 2017 the year before she finally appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race in season 10.

She is also well known for a 2011 performance that resurfaced as a viral internet meme in 2018. Mayhem has a close personal and professional relationship with Morgan McMichaels who thrilled Cape Town and Johannesburg in February.

Prior to her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race Mayhem had performed in venues across the United States carving out a place for herself on the West Hollywood club circuit. Mayhem’s drag career began in 2002 around the same time as early Drag Race queens Raven and Morgan and she worked extensively with RPDR alums Detox and Delta Work.

The Cape Town performance will be hosted by the City’s premier LGBTI friendly venue Zer021 Social Club on Tuesday 30 April, tickets are available from computicket.

Performing alongside Mayhem in Cape Town are local queens Kat Gilardi and Livvi. Kat is a seasoned Cape Town queen who is no stranger to the Zero21 stage, while Livvi is quickly establishing herself as a staple of the Mother City’s drag scene.

Mayhem will perform at Babylon bar in Johannesburg on Friday 3 May with tickets available on Howler.

A standard ticket to see either performance will set you back R150 while limited meet and greet tickets will cost R350. If the shows do not sell out online tickets will be available at the door for R250.

The tour is brought to South Africa by Manilla von Teez Productions in partnership with Zero21 and Babylon Bar.
