Even though Meghan Markle is not on official maternity leave yet, she is stepping away from the limelight.
Kensington Palace confirmed that the Duchess has no public engagements scheduled for the remainder of March.

She will, however, keep pace with her busy schedule, but it will be behind closed doors. A source close to the Duchess told People:
“There are plenty of private meetings taking place. If she is to do something public, it would be announced, but there are none that are scheduled.”

Working behind the scenes
Royal sources confirm that she already attended a private meeting at Kensington Palace with executives Rufus Norris and Lisa Burger from the National Theatre.

The chances are good that we won’t see Meghan again until after she’s given birth. Meghan is eight months pregnant, and the arrival of the Royal tot is expected in April.

New home, new baby, new beginnings
Meghan and Prince Harry are also on track to move to their new home, Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor, before the Royal tot arrives.

If Meghan follows in Kate’s footsteps, she might only resume her Royal duties in October. Kate took six months off from public engagements after she gave birth to Prince Louis back in 2018.

Royal biographer Duncan Larcombe explained at the time that Kate was free to “pick and choose” which Royal engagements she wanted to attend.
She did, however, make an appearance at Meghan’s wedding in May, but that counts as a “family affair,” not a “royal duty.”
