Shots fired: Mboweni takes a dig at Ndlozi for his choice of shoes

It appears avid chef Tito Mboweni has turned his attention to fashion after trashing EFF member Mbuyiseni Ndlozi’s shoes.

Finance Minister Tito Mboweni is certainly a Jack of all trades. The minister, who also has a deep love for cooking and food according to his Twitter account, seems to have other interests too – perhaps fashion? On Wednesday 9 December 2020, Mboweni took a dig at Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member Mbuyiseni Ndlozi for his choice of shoes. Yes, his choice of shoes.

MBOWENI SLAMS NDLOZI FOR CHOICE OF SHOES

It all began when Ndlozi posted an image of himself and none other than EFF leader Julius Malema at a wedding. The caption read “wedding vibes” with a party emoji. Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula responded asking: “When are you getting married doctor?”

The pair, who looked smartly dressed, for the most part, were not up to scratch according to Mzansi’s newest fashionista. Mboweni reposted the image on Twitter, tagged Ndlozi and added a brand new caption, one Ndlozi has responded to quite calmly.

“⁦How do you go to such a function wearing those shoes? Mine are better!!” Mboweni said.

The post, at the time of publishing, received 3 800 likes, 597 retweets and 913 comments. It didn’t stop there, however. Mboweni then went on to post the image of Ndlozi directly next to an image of himself. “You be the judge!” he said. Perhaps a “who wore it best” moment?

A Twitter user replied to Mboweni saying; “nothing to judge here except for the fact that your trouser is too long for you.”

Another Twitter user responded to Mboweni saying; “minister we still looking for the R500 billion for COVID-19 stop distracting us with this useless pictures”.

NDLOZI RESPONDS IN A PLAYFUL MANNER

Believe it or not, Ndlozi responded with very few words. In response to Mboweni, he shared two videos which his followers considered to be hilarious. One video had the caption: “for the haters who want to see me falling”.

“One thing Bafana ba EFF are excelling on are the good taste when coming to shoes shem. They are miles apart from other parties. If elections were won on a shoe competition, the whole Parliament would be red,” said another Twitter user.

Another asked Mboweni to discuss unemployment, poverty, government debt and racial inequality rather than “garlic and shoes”.
