Susan le Roux in Port Elizabeth: Some virtual travel relief in lockdown

Are you one of those South Africans who are dreaming about all the places across the country you’re going to visit post-lockdown?

Travelling beyond the four walls of one’s house has become a challenge in itself for us South Africans during lockdown. In search of some virtual travel relief the other day, I stumbled across an initiative — a bit of light at the end of our extended lockdown tunnel.

ThisIsSouthAfrica.com is a photo tourism website which gives people the opportunity to add their pre-lockdown photos of travel locations across South Africa. According to the website this could help those with itchy feet plan their local road trips — post-lockdown, of course.

I thought this is quite cool as anyone with some time on their hands during lockdown can become a contributor and load their favourite images of South African for consideration.
