DURBANITES GET THEIR TOES WET IN KZN FLOODS

In a clip circulating social media, the Durban North dad and his son are seen rowing their canoe in a massive pool of water which had accumulated from the KZN floods.

Colin and Joshua Simpkins took advantage of the flooded Virginia Circle in their neighborhood to pass the time and have “fun”.

Colin – an avid canoer – told Tshisalive: “We live less than 100m from the circle. We are both canoeists. My son arrived home from school and told me the centre of the circle was full of water. We grabbed our canoes and walked over for some fun”.

And their watersports action put a smile on the faces of many passers-by.

He added: “When we were paddling there were lots of fun reactions. People were hooting, waving and taking photos. It was great fun”.

Another clip that has social media giggling is a video of a Durban resident surfing in the flood waters of Cotswold Downs Golf And Country Estate.

In the clip, the unidentified individual is seen casually enjoying the “waves” along the golf estate.
