South Africans have not stopped laughing at a post about a thief who fell asleep on the job. According to the person who posted the photos, the guy decided to break into the car by breaking the windows. But instead of looting the car and running, he fell asleep in the passenger seat and was caught the next day by the shocked car owner who handed him over to the police.

Sleepy thief caught snoozing on the job

As a thief, you basically have one job – to successfully get away with the stolen goods without getting caught. One man has certainly chosen the wrong profession after he decided to break into a car – and bizarrely, take a nap.

Twitter account @VehicleTrackerz took to the app on 14 March this year to share that the man was caught in Palmview, KwaZulu-Natal by a motorist who was probably shocked to see that his car had been broken into and that the person behind the crime was still inside the vehicle.

“The suspect was apprehended after falling asleep in a car that he broke into & attempted stealing valuables from this morning in Palmview.

“KZN VIP was alerted to this after the resident noticed his vehicle had broken into. The suspect was detained by KZN VIP & handed over to SAPS,” the caption reads.

Mzansi can’t deal

The post left thousands of South Africans laughing their butts off as they discussed the foolish man’s actions. Many of them remarked that the owner of the car must be using some pretty strong muti.
